Delete your account
You can delete your Capybook account and its data at any time, in the app or by email. Deleting your account is permanent and can't be undone.
In the app
- Open Capybook and sign in.
- Tap the More tab.
- Tap Parameters.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Your account is deleted right away.
By email
- Write to capybaradev.support@gmail.com.
- Use the subject "Delete my Capybook account".
- Send it from the email address of your account, so we know it's you.
We delete your account within 30 days and reply to confirm.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in details (email address and name).
- Your profile: picture, bio, country, birth date, favorite books and genres.
- Your shelf: books, reading status, progress, ratings and reading days.
- Your book lists, including for the people who saved them, and the lists you saved.
- Your Capypoints and your suggestions to improve books.
- The book clubs you own, with their members, polls and chats.
- Your memberships, join requests and votes in other clubs.
- Your device's push notification token.
What is kept
- Messages in other people's clubs: messages you sent in clubs owned by someone else stay in that club's chat until the chat is deleted, which happens when the club moves on to a new book or the club is deleted.
- Approved book improvements: changes to a book's details that were approved stay in the book catalog, as they are part of the book's information. They are no longer linked to you.
- Backups: copies in our service providers' backups are erased within 30 days.
Data stored only on your phone, such as reading reminders and Pomodoro settings, is removed when you uninstall the app.
